NAEDA hosted the first Alumni Reunion in Williamsburg, VA in October 2007. Past chairmen, John Fleet and Jim Meinhardt co-chaired the event in hopes of forming an alumni group that would meet periodically (Dutch treat) at a mutually agreeable location to foster a spirit of loyalty and promote the general welfare of NAEDA.
The event was well attended by past directors and past officers. Alumni and spouses/guests were briefed about current NAEDA board operations, financial viability of the organization, and organizational priorities, including manufacturer relations, government relations and workforce development. It was a perfect opportunity to socialize with old friends, make new acquaintances and share stories about the past and present. The group decided to hold a similar event approximately every two years.
