Yesterday, SB 194 was heard in the Senate Tax, Business, and Transportation Committee. The bill was introduced by one of its sponsors, Senator Joshua Sanchez (R). Expert testimony was provided by NAEDA in support of the legislation and no registered opposition testified on the bill. After the quick testimony, the committee voted unanimously to approve a do-pass recommendation.
From here, SB 194 has a subsequent committee referral to the Senate Judiciary Committee. NAEDA will be working hard to keep the bill moving forward during New Mexico’s short legislative session, which adjourns in about a month on March 22nd. We will keep you updated with the progress of this bill.
