We are contacting you to ensure you are aware of a pending Right to Repair amendment proposal in the MA state legislature – redraft amendment 471. This amendment proposes to include what we consider to be an overly broad definition of a “portable wireless device.” We do not, however, believe the amendment is meant to target the agricultural industry or equipment dealers. Additionally, on the 27th of July, we hosted a monthly coordination call for the Coalition Opposed to Illegal Tampering and discussed this issue. After hearing from regional experts including the Northeast Equipment Dealers Association, it was decided that as a precautionary measure the Coalition would forward a letter describing why we oppose so-called Right to Repair laws. We have since sent this letter to the appropriate conference committee members. Please click here to view the letter.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this email. We at NAEDA look forward to continuing our service to you, and please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about this or other industry-related matters.
