In the ongoing aftermath of the Supreme Court ruling regarding the Corporate Transparency Act and the uncertainty of how long lower court injunctions against the act will remain in effect, a joint trades letter was submitted to the White House. NAEDA joined 60 other trade associations requesting relief from the new administration on any future enforcement actions.
As the letter points out, Vice President Vance was a sponsor of legislation to repeal the CTA and previous legislation to delay implementation passed the House of Representatives nearly unanimously. There is a clear consensus that the CTA is an example of government overreach and should be repealed. The new administration looks inclined to agree, and we believe will do something to stop enforcement of this law affecting millions of small businesses.
NAEDA is proud to join our business partners in this outreach effort. We will continue updating you on the progress and status of this issue moving forward. The entirety of the letter can be read below.
