The full House Agriculture Committee meets today to begin markup of the recently released Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024. House Agriculture Committee Chairman, G.T. Thompson (R-PA), unveiled the bill last week to much applause from stakeholder groups across agriculture.
NAEDA joins in supporting the bill as a strong initial effort to bolster agricultural production and provide a safety net for America’s farm and ranch families.
Regarding the bill, NAEDA CEO Kim Rominger commented, “This first attempt at legislation puts the farm back in the farm bill. NAEDA will be actively advocating for provisions that strengthen our industry and lead to outcomes that benefit successful dealers.”
NAEDA submitted a position statement to the Committee you can read Here. The markup hearing will be livestreamed here.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxVehkV2qiw)
