Workforce Development

Since its formation in 1988, the Equipment Dealers Foundation has focused on workforce development. EDF chooses to support all career paths in a dealership with its scholarship program but takes a special interest in service technicians.

As the most profitable department in a dealership, the service department must hire and retain top technicians, but there is a skill gap in our industry and too many dealerships find themselves with a shortage of service technicians. The work EDF does raises awareness of and interest in the service technician position. It is the goal of workforce development initiatives to improve the pipeline of qualified technicians available for hire at equipment dealerships throughout North America.
